Get Involved

There are plenty of ways to get involved with Practical Activism, from the planning process to the day of the conference. Below you will find information for how to join the planning team, submit a workshop proposal, and have your organization represented by tabling.

Join the Planning Team:

The Practical Activism Conference Planning Team is composed of students affiliated with College Nine, College Ten, and Oakes College of the University of California Santa Cruz. Being a part of the Practical Activism Planning Team is a unique rewarding experience where participants have the opportunity to learn organizing activism skills, learn and build upon their professional development skills, and be a part of creative team-building while making friends and lasting memories along the way. Potential planners must attend an info session. Click the link above for the times, dates, and locations of the info sessions for the 17th Annual planning team. Keep a lookout for opportunities to volunteer or email the Coco

Submit a Workshop Proposal:

The Practical Activism Conference is looking for topics to cover! The goal of the conference is to educate, inform, and provide tools for Local and Global Change. We invite you to share in this experience by proposing a workshop or special session on a topic you are passionate about. The planning team will review all proposals submitted and will select the workshops that will be presented during Conference. Follow the link above fill out proposal form where you can convey general information about you would like the workshop to address and provide resources and suggestions to the planners. Proposals will be available soon and are due in late April 2019.
